I love my cat more then words can say. I would love to share my life with another cat and be owned by it as well. I tried introducing my cat to another cat and it didn’t work. Does this mean my dream of being owned by two cats is not to be?

Dear Whole Lotta,

Maybe. Maybe not. I know my humans ARE NOT getting another cat as long as I’m in this incarnation, though. No way no how. Big D made the adjustment when I came to live here well enough and he’s such a big sturk he’d probably let other cats in too, but I’m not that much of a fat patsy.

So I guess it depends on how much of a fat patsy your cat is and whether you can find an amenable combination of cat to cat. Some say it’s easier if you have an adult cat to get a kitten of the opposite gender? Anyone else have words for Poor Whole Lotta?

Dear Meankitty,

My family and I have, so far, rescued 13 cats (with kittens). We are currently, slowly and carefully, rescuing 2 more moms with their 4 (total) kittens. Is there such a thing as too many? We are pretty sure that one of the original mama cats was the queen of a colony in our area. We believe she is sending messages to all of our subsequent rescuees. Any advice would be most welcome.

Lots of cats can be lots of party; however, you shouldn’t have more than you can spoil. It also depends on how big your house and yard and pocketbook are. Of course, if riding the halls on a mewing wave of felines is your thing, get some more! “Cat Lady” is an honorable human designation in the SOHC world.

From the Cat Gallery, Miss Treat has given ample proof she does not want to live with other cats. Does anybody want a cat that is rotten on the outside, but a cream-puff on the inside?

For the experienced and fearless cat owner only — the kind that LIKES a wild animal, because it scares the poo out of friends….

Dear Claw Marks,

Owning a cat is a big responsibility. Owning more than one cat is a bigger responsibility. Cats should rule your life and you just need to find a way to make Miss Treat happier. I know what I am talking about: I rule my Typing Slave’s life and it couldn’t make me happier. Even that dumb little pink human things that moved into the house aren’t as important as me.

So my advice is keep the cat. Keep all the cats. Get some more cats. See my advice to Pauline about how to deal with cat fighting.
